And let me tell you, I don't mind it a bit! I LOVE being home, puttering around, baking a little, cleaning a little and sewing alot! This morning when I woke up it was 3 degrees with a windchill of -20! For some of you that is nothing, for others unimaginable. I have lived in the same state for 34 years, it's not new to me, and I'm sure I am not moving out any time soon; but that doesn't mean I love this weather. So, at the dark hour of 5:00 am I fumbled with the radio. "Please cancel school, Please please PLEASE cancel school!" I could hear the wind howling, but alas our school was not mentioned. Two neighboring districts were closed, so I could not believe our superintendent would be so daring as to want to come out in this weather. Think about those poor innocent children (and my comfort), those sweet, sweet children out in that blustery cold wind! I plodded to the computer and brought up our local news station. Aha! We ARE closed! I can crawl back under my flannel comforter; oh and thank goodness those sweet children are spared!
So after a little bit more snoozing, I got up and folded laundry as I promised myself I would if I had the good fortune of a snowday. I am not a good laundry folder. It is on the bottom of my priority list. I will whip out an iron quicker than anything, but folding laundry when it comes out of the dryer is just beyond me. So I promised myself last night as I nodded off that if I got to stay home today, I would fold the two baskets of laundry that had been staring at me all weekend. With that done, and breakfast dishes taken care of I was free to work on my log cabin quilt project. I have almost all of the cutting done. I may even make one block this afternoon. My daughter had two friends over to destroy the kitchen, I mean bake chocolate chip cookies! And my son has his buddy over.
It was also a great mail day. I received my fat quarters from a swap I joined. They are so lovely! I just love fabric. I love mail too! I also received two Valentines!
So it's been a great day! I was born to be a housewife...well all except for that laundry thing!
Stay warm!

Bonnie, please stay warm!! I can't imagine that coldness, I feel so bad for you all up there, how on earth do people survive that windchill? Stay inside, I would!! Your day at home sounds wonderful, I love those days too! Warm hugs!!
Oh, darn...you reminded me with the laundry reference that I've got clothes in the washer and ought to move them to the dryer before they begin to stink (but that would interupt my internet time!!)
Bonnie, My thoughts are with you and the weather, so many people this year has had it hard. I guess if your settled in somewhere there is no need to move. Keep Warm and the kids too.
I cannot imagine it ever that cold. Real frigid here is somewhere in the teens. 30 is even cold to us Pacifac Coasters. So stay bundled and warm and I don't like folding laundry either. MB
hope you had a great day at home (in spite of the folding of laundry) i, too, have a hard time with that one. i have to set myself up some sort of reward for doing it. by the way, the red things hanging above the bed are actually storage bins from ikea. very fun. larkin loves them.
Hi Bonnie,
Guess you are back in school today. Its is snowing to beat the band here right now, they should have closed school here today instead of yesterday. What does to beat the band mean I wonder?

Another snow day? Wow. The cookie part sounds great. The laundry part sounds like I'd rather be at work. Are you guys still under those dangerous cold conditions?
Yes, we still had the same wind chill advisory this morning, but we had school...go figure!
The laundry is never-ending, I've been at it forever it seems... but, I'm like you; I love being home!
