Finishing the old...

My Grandmother gave me the most SCRUMPTIOUS patterns for Christmas; embroidery patterns, an APRON pattern, and a quilt square kit. BUT I promised myself that I would finish old projects before starting anything new. So I got out my wallhanging and finished up the bottom "checkerboard".

I didn't get finished; as I need to put a red border around the whole project, but that is all it's waiting for so I am satisfied. That also proved that my stash is not too big, because I did not have the "right" shade of red for the project!

My farmgirl buddy, Nancy Jo, inspired me show some of my books. I was looking it hers yesterday and got such a chuckle that we had some of the same books, same dust jacket and all! I know, little things amuse me!

A Walk Around Town

My friend Clare from MaryJanes Forum is quite the inspiration! It has been such fun getting to "know" her these last few months. She always talks about going out for walks. She just does it, gets out there and gos! So I got out there today, though I could have thought of 100 other things to do and WALKED! It was beautiful and I feel great!

Christmas Day

Once again, we headed over the river and through the woods to Grandmothers! Every year when she is asked what we could possible get her for Christmas, she says in that lovely southern drawl of hers, "just for all my family to come see me on Christmas". She had a house full this year and I'm sure she was happy.

Dig in!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve as a child, an only child, we always opened presents. This was done more out of necessity than any other reason. Christmas morning we would empty the stockings that santa brought us, then head out for over an hour's drive to my maternal grandmother's.
Now that I am married and have children of my own, we carry on this tradition. It was just a beautiful time this year. Everyone was happy and healthy. The day was beautiful.
