Treasures from Mom

My mom stopped by yesterday~I was out (on that interview!) but she left me the most awesome gift (just because!) LOOK at this afagan! (Yes that is probably my dog's rear end in the left side of the picture!!)

My mom loves being crafty, just hasn't had the time she'd like to do it, as she has worked 3rd shift for almost 30 years. But the blanket got me thinking, mom has been really into crochet the last few years and I must have quite a bit of her work around here. So I started taking pictures...and realized mom has given me quite a few of her treasures that I display around the house. I wanted to share them with you all.

Wow, that's not even all of them! I am so blessed to have such a lovely, giving mom!

Hey there, Beemoosie! I'm so glad you stopped by... just wanted to let you know I came by your place, too! I LUV the pretty things your little momma made... I wish I could knit so bad. I'm trying, but I still can't get past cast-on! Talk to you again soon!

Beautiful! You are one lucky gal.

My mom crochets, but hasn't been able to teach me. I'm all thumbs or something.

How beautiful. You are fortunate indeed!! My mom taught me the basics of crocheting...but it would take me eons to make even ONE doily!!

How lucky you are to have all the beautiful handmade pieces. They look so much prettier than those cheap imitations that are out there these days. You can appreciate all the work and pleasures that she put into each piece.

Such a wonderful way to honor your mother! Her work is just lovely. Though I do all sorts of handwork myself, I never could quite accomplish crochet and I so admire those who do have this skill!

Just beautiful!

Blessings,
Lea

How precious! You are so blessed to have your Mom with you. My Mom used to love to crochet, it was her favorite pastime. She made some gorgeous doilies, and yours remind me of them. Love your blog!

You know, your post reminds me that we don't always see all the evidence of love all around us!

I really love your blog. Aren't we so blessed to have our moms with us. My mom & I are going to take a quilting class starting the middle of March. I am so excited, not only to learn to quilt, but just to be with my Mom.

Mom is very talented! Love her work, especially the piece at the bottom with the green center. Those are "forever" treasures!
